BECOME A STAR
Dear Wheelchair sports players,
The BBC has just confirmed that it will be filming Desperados, a brand new childrens’ drama series about a fictional wheelchair basketball team, for three months over the summer of 2006.
We are looking for players between the ages of 12 and 22 who might be interested in acting in the series. You don’t need to have any acting experience, just enthusiasm and raw talent, which even you may not have discovered yet! We are holding a open audition/workshop on 12 November at Stoke Mandeville from 10AM until 1 pm, with those selected being asked to stay behind for the afternoon until 4.30pm.
As some of you may know, we held auditions last year where we found a great deal of talented young actors, some of whom we are hoping to cast in the series. If you attended any of those workshops, we will contact you directly if we would like to talk to you about playing one of the main roles, if we do not contact you, please do not attend this workshop, as we will not be reconsidering people we have already seen at this stage, although anyone who did show an interest will be considered first for the less major roles.
We look forward to hearing form anyone who is interested in coming along for an exciting and fun morning. If you would like to attend, or just want to find out more, please contact Kathy Harris at the BBC on 0208 576 9547 who can book you a place and/or give you all the details.
All the very best
Jesse Cleverly
Executive Producer, Desperados.
